Although an unfeeling male, I concur about Mary. In fear of seeming to Catholic many churches ignore her and dwell on her less than many OT characters - maybe the evangelical church is actually embarressed Jesus had a human Mum?

Ohh, and glad your schools work is doing well! (Althought that always seemed to be your forte, based on Gateshead) Just before Christmas I was voted in as chair of governors at one of our schools - and I did the Christmas day talk for the first time ever :) Ohhh, the dizzy heights I have reached ;p Surely that make sme almost a vicar?

Anyway - I still haven't recieved Fatfield cookies...

Many thanks — your description of Mary as someone who "was scared but did it anyway" really hit the button for me, and made me think and rethink. Every blessing and all best — Alan

I found your blog all by myself and the power of google - go me :)

I'm glad I'm a youth worker. This post is why you're preistly and I'm plebby. Things get far to complicated and heavy, where tact is required in buckets.

I'm off to play pool, or eat cake, or something much more stereotypical...

Yes I do live in Gateshead. I wasn't particularly fond of the Angel when it first arrived but over time I've grown to love it. I like the way it welcomes me home everytime I come back in to town, the fact it provides a focal point for so much stuff and a face for Gateshead.
